2. Hosting and server logs
This website runs on a self-managed root server provided by netcup GmbH, Emmy-Noether-Straße 10, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany. The application is managed there using Coolify and Docker. Coolify runs on the same self-managed infrastructure and is not an additional recipient of visitor data. A data processing agreement is in place with netcup.
When you access the website, the server processes connection data required for technical delivery. This may include the IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser and operating system, HTTP status, and amount of data transferred. Processing is necessary to deliver the website, analyse errors, and prevent attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the service.
Server logs are generally deleted or anonymised no later than 14 days after collection. Extracts relating to a specific security incident may be retained longer while the incident is investigated or legal claims are established, exercised, or defended.
3. Technically necessary settings
The website uses local browser storage:
- cookieConsent (local storage): stores your analytics choice, the consent version, and timestamp. The choice is requested again after 180 days.
- Display settings (local storage): store your light or dark theme and other purely visual settings. They remain on your device until you change them or clear browser storage.
These settings are required to provide the display you requested and to remember your privacy choice. The legal basis is section 25(2)(2) TDDDG; further processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4. Optional audience measurement with Umami
We use Umami for audience measurement. Umami runs on the same self-managed infrastructure as this website and is reachable at stats.formatgeber.de. It is a self-hosted installation; the data collected does not leave our infrastructure in Germany and is not passed on to third parties.
The analytics script is only loaded after you have consented in the consent banner. Without consent, no audience measurement takes place. The legal basis is your consent under section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Umami operates without analytics cookies and is not configured for cross-site tracking. It processes the page viewed, time, referrer, browser and device type, screen size, and an anonymised session reference. The IP address is not stored; it is used only transiently to derive country of origin and device type. No advertising profiles are created and no data is combined with other sources.
Measurement data is deleted after twelve months at the latest.
You can change your decision at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawal applies to future processing.
5. Contact form and email
If you use the contact form, we process your name, email address, optional package selection, and message. A form completion time measured in the browser and a hidden field are used solely to detect spam. The IP address is used only for a temporary in-memory limit of three requests per hour; it is not stored permanently in a database by this mechanism. It may independently appear in the server logs described in section 2.
The enquiry is sent to us through the SMTP mailbox hosted by netcup. A receipt confirmation is sent to the email address provided. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our interest in responding to your enquiry.
Enquiries are deleted once they have been fully dealt with and no statutory retention duty or legitimate documentation need remains. Contractual or billing-related correspondence is retained for the applicable statutory periods.
You can alternatively contact us directly by email. The data you provide will be processed for the same purposes.
6. External links and social networks
Links to Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn are ordinary external links. Merely visiting this website does not establish a connection to those providers. Only when you open a link do you leave our service and the provider's privacy terms apply. Data may then be processed outside the EU or EEA.
7. Recipients and international transfers
Recipients are limited to the processors named in this policy where required for hosting and email delivery. Visiting this website and using its contact form do not require a transfer to a provider in a third country. Such a transfer may occur only when you choose to open an external social-media link.
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have rights of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection (Art. 21). You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Saxony, this is in particular the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner.
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We use technical and organisational safeguards to protect data against loss, manipulation, and unauthorised access. This policy will be updated whenever features, service providers, or legal requirements change.Ready for the Starting Gun?
